EXPLORA (EXPLORE) emerges as situated research about dance interpretation, carried out in the city of Santiago, Chile, during 2020 and 2023. The process arises from an approach to fundamental questions about the practice of interpretation, in relation to concrete experiences in local contexts, from the practices and reflections of the research team itself and then with other artists, generating a broadened and experiential approach to the interpretive processes. What are those knowledges that we can recognize and resonate with in the practice of interpretation? How do the territorial, affective, cyclical and collective dimensions permeate our practice? How does the dance interpreter appear? In short, how can we encourage the emergence of interpreters?
